I Am a Woman. SPECIALLY chosen by God to do a specific task on earth.

This past weekend our church held a women's retreat near Lancaster, CA. I had the privilege to meet a woman I have so dearly admired. Her name is Lorena Zamorano. I have looked up to her and her twin Nolita W. Theo since I was a girl. If you know me, you already know how much I delight at the sound of a beautiful harmony. So, you can imagine how special it was for me to meet this lovely woman. Lorena is very unique in her style and that's a quality that captured me about her. Her songwriting is also captivating not to mention the anointing God has given her to minister to women. It fascinates me when I meet someone with such assurance of who God has created and called them to be. Lorena is an exemplary woman to follow. I cannot say enough good things about her :) May God continue to enrich and bless her and her family abundantly.

Here we are with LZ. From left to right: Zinat, Norma, Priscilla and Paola

I want to share with you a little something Lorena shared with the women at the retreat. She made us aware of who we truly are in Christ as women and what that entitles, on the off chance we might not have been ;)
As women we are mothers. God has placed within us the power/ability to create alongside Him. And not necessarily by giving birth as we might automatically think. To birth and speak life to those around us. As women we are unique. We were SPECIALLY chosen by God to do a specific task on earth. The list goes on! :)
She spoke of this by illustrating it with tea/coffee pots as a reference that we pour out onto others what God gives us. Allow me to help you visualize...
On the inside we are made in HIS image and after HIS likeness (Gen. 1:26-27). We must understand and believe this truth so we can do HIS will and ultimately influence earth with heaven.

I measure a man by the way he loves his wife.

Last night I was listening to a sermon and the preacher pointed something out that spoke volumes to me. He said: I measure a man by the way he loves his wife. I have no interest in how well you can preach or cast out demons, how well you can walk on water or prophesy. Your character is more important than your reputation. Don't get excited about someone's gift, look for character. Your gift is only as valid as your character.

All that the preacher had said made me think of the Apostle Paul's counsel to us wives: "...submit yourselves unto your own husbands..." (Ephesians 5:22) And to the husbands he says, "...love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it..." (v.25) My point of impact comes in these following verses: "So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. No one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church." (v.28, 29) He's making reference to Christ and the church, very important. That's the same relationship a husband should have with his wife. Always imitating Christ's love for the church as the husband should love and care for his wife. A true man of God gives himself for his wife just like Christ did for the church.

Read, Declare and Believe

Today I will remind myself to read, declare and believe God's Word over any misconception the devil wants to throw at me. I will not allow his lies to have control over my thoughts or actions. I am a woman made in my Creator's image and after his likeness (Gen1:26). I am loved. I am His.

"I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." - Psalm 119:11
